Unlike in the past, the Mugambas urshered in the new year with a great mood which is not the case for 2023 as the family gathers today January 2 in Bwigamiro village, Fort Portal for the final send off the three siblings that perished in a fatal accident on December 30, 2022 while returning from Fort Portal to Kampala where they had gone for Christmas celebrations.
The trio identified as Ulrich Kamurasi Mugamba, Elly Winyi Mugamba and Tara Mugamba aged 31, 23 and 21 respectively are relatives of retired Supreme Court Judge Paul Mugamba and High Court Judge Jeanne Rwakakooko.
According to the survivor of this accident, a motorcyclist, said the accident that claimed the lives of the trio happened in the afternoon hours of December 30 when a semi-trailer crushed into the vehicle the siblings were travelling and also crashed more vehicles and motorcycles near Forest Park Buloba along Kampala Mityana Highway.
ASP Faridah Nampiima, the Spokesperson for the Uganda Traffic Force confirmed the immediate death of the occupants of the Toyata wish in which the deceased were travelling.
However, some of the residents of the area who preferred anonymity, attribute the accident to spiritual powers in the area given the many accidents which occured recently at the particular spot.
