Fort Portal – Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among, on Friday represented President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at the 30th Coronation Anniversary of Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.
In her message, Among congratulated the Omukama on reaching the remarkable milestone and lauded Tooro Kingdom’s contribution to the socio-economic transformation of its people.
She conveyed the government’s appreciation to the kingdom for spearheading initiatives that have uplifted communities in education, culture, health, and development.
“I congratulate His Highness on this milestone and extend my appreciation, and that of the Government, to the kingdom for its huge contribution to transforming the subjects’ lives in different spheres,” she said.
The celebrations in Fort Portal brought together cultural leaders, government officials, and dignitaries from across Uganda and the region, underscoring the enduring role of cultural institutions in national development.
Omukama Oyo ascended the throne in 1995 at the age of three, making him the world’s youngest reigning monarch at the time.
Over the past three decades, he has presided over the kingdom’s efforts to preserve cultural heritage while championing youth empowerment and development programs.
