According to Wamala Region Police spokesperson SSP Lameck Kigozi, the deceased, identified as Were Twaha Were, was elected on the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket to represent people with disabilities.
Police in Kiboga District are investigating the murder of Were Twah, 50, a counselor-elect for Kiboga Town Council, who was found dead in his home in Kiwanguzi Cell.
According to Wamala Region Police spokesperson SSP Lameck Kigozi, the deceased, identified as Were Twaha Were, was elected on the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket to represent people with disabilities.
SSP Kigozi said the District Police Commander (DPC) received a tip-off and immediately mobilized a homicide team, which collected evidence at the scene. The body has since been taken to Kiboga Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Kigozi added that Were Twah, who was on the run, was reportedly killed with a blunt object.
Investigators continue to collect evidence and appeal to anyone with information to come forward to assist in establishing the circumstances surrounding the death.
