The Director of Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), AIGP Tom Magambo, this evening chaired the quarterly review meeting for all Regional CID Commanders at the CID Headquarters in Kibuli, Kampala, with a renewed call to step up efforts against crime across the country.
The meeting, held in the Directorate’s newly modernized conference facility, reflected the ongoing transformation of CID operations under Magambo’s stewardship.
Equipped with state-of-the-art digital displays, video conferencing systems, and real-time data dashboards, the setting underscored the director’s commitment to modernizing Uganda’s criminal investigations.
During the session, the commanders reviewed the progress of ongoing operations targeting organized crime, violent robberies, and emerging cybercrime threats.
AIGP Magambo commended his team for their dedication and emphasized the importance of strategic coordination and intelligence-led operations to enhance public safety.
“Our priority is to ensure that no Ugandan feels unsafe in their community. CID is adopting modern tools and techniques to stay ahead of criminals and guarantee justice,” Magambo said.
Under his leadership, CID has been steadily integrating technology into its operations, including the use of digital case management systems, forensic upgrades, and enhanced inter-agency coordination.
This modernization drive has earned Magambo praise from within the police force for breathing new life into a unit that historically grappled with resource and efficiency challenges.
The quarterly review concluded with directives aimed at intensifying surveillance in urban crime hotspots and boosting regional collaboration to dismantle organized criminal networks.
