Willy Okello Obwoch, the deputy head teacher of Pajar Primary School in Kaabong District, is in police custody after he was allegedly found heavily intoxicated during school hours.
The incident occurred during a routine monitoring visit by the school’s PTA chairperson, Samuel Lokuruka, on Tuesday, who said he found the administrator slurring his speech while on duty. The matter was reported to district officials before police were involved.
The case was registered at Kaabong Central Police Station under SD REF 35/23/02/2026, leading to Obwoch’s immediate detention. Lokuruka described the deputy head teacher as a habitual drunk, saying he had previously been warned about similar conduct.
He noted that after consultations with district authorities, the school leadership was advised to formally involve the police.
