A fierce row has broken out between the chief coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation Programme (OWC), Gen Salim Saleh, and the Kampala City Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago over claims by the latter.
This is contained in an emotional note written by Gen Salim to Lukwago expressing his disappointment in the unfounded allegations by the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) strongman.
Although, the latter does not detail what exactly Lukwago said and when, it gives a hint that he among others claimed that the NRA bush war veteran is misusing power.
“Dear Brother Elias Lukwago, Lord Mayor Kampala City. I’m very offended by what you have said about me and the power I am misusing,” writes Gen Saleh.
He goes ahead to inform him that he has withdrawn all the support he has been giving him until he delivers an apology for tarnishing his reputation.
“I have withdrawn all the support I have been giving you in your fights (political) until you apologize. Otherwise, like Archbishop Semwogerere said, obulimba n’obukyaayi bwenkurabye nabwo – Uganda yakusabira,” adds Gen Salim who is also a brother to President Yoweri Museveni.
Gen Saleh’s assertions are synonymous to the case of Gen Kale Kayihura, the former Inspector General of Police (IGP) who had infiltrated the opposition parties to the core to the extent that many top opposition figures picked money from his office and fuel from police.
Lukwago was not readily available for a comment but his personal assistant, Elvis Kintu Nsonyi has regarded Gen Saleh’s note as crap.
“This is the total definition of the word crap,” observes Nsonyi.
It is unlikely that Gen Saleh, a man not known for being thirsty for media headlines, can lie about the support to Lukwago. Pundits say Lord Mayor’s only remaining option is to seek amicable redress of the matter with the General of the resistance outside the media, or else he risks being exposed more.
Meanwhile, there are mixed reactions by Ugandans on social media, with some demanding that Gen Saleh avails more evidence to the effect and others saying that that will expose the opposition more.

Buruhan Byaruhanga:” “You can not bite the hand that feeds you and think can survive. Finally the lid has been blown off”.
