Police has revealed the identity of the two officers shot dead at Busiika Police Station in Luweero District by unknown gunmen on Monday evening.

It is alleged that armed men who were traveling in a yet to be identified vehicle stormed the Police Station and started shooting at the police officers.

“We were going along with our businesses when we had several gunshots. At first we thought that may police was trailing an escaping suspect, only to realize that gunshots were lasting longer. We heard more than 30 shots,” says one of the eye witnesses.

“They were in a Toyota Premio and dressed in masks. After vacating the crime scene, we move closer to the police station and found some officers dead and others with wounds,” he adds.

Savanah regional police has confirmed the occurrence of the incident and the instant dead of two their officers due to sustained bullet wounds.

The deceased officers are D/Ip Wagaluka alex 1/c cid Busiika Police Station and Pc Ongol Moses M/a attached to Busiika police station.

Those who sustained injuries and now receiving treatment at Bombo General Military Hospital are Pc Odama Stephen and Ocom Adrian.

It is also alleged that the assailants took off with some guns from the police station.

A team from the Region headed by the RPC, ACP Otong Savanah region, DPC Luwero, Homicide, Soco and joint forces are already at the Scene, according to Police.

A case of murder by shooting registered vide sd ref. 84/31/10/22 and Luwero CRB 841/22.

By publication of this story, the bodies were still at the scene and scene cordoned off waiting for the K9 and a team of forensic.
