Businessman and philanthropist Hamis Kiggundu, commonly known as Ham, has warned Ugandans both at home and abroad to beware of online fraudsters creating fake TikTok accounts in his name to con people of money.

In a video message, Kiggundu revealed that over 300 fake TikTok accounts have been opened impersonating him, with the scammers using these pages to defraud unsuspecting Ugandans.

“These fraudsters are using names like Dr. Chigun Amis, Amis Chigun, or Hamis Kiggundu to trick people, promising help with school fees, charity, or startup capital,” he said.

Kiggundu stressed that he does not give out charity or financial support through social media, urging the public to ignore such messages and instead report or block the impersonators.

“I want to make it clear that those are not my accounts. I don’t give charity on social media. Please report these people to the authorities — what they are doing is a crime,” he cautioned.

He further urged Ugandans to stay alert on TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and other platforms, to avoid falling victim to online fraud.
