Jakana Nadduli, a son to veteran Luweero bush war hero Hajji Abdul Nadduli, is dead.
The news of his passing has been confirmed by David Lewis Rubongoya, the Secretary General of the National Unity Platform (NUP). Rubongoya says Nadduli was found dead at his home.
“We’ve woken up to the terrible news of the untimely passing of our brother Jakaana Nadduli. The family says he was found dead at his home, a few days after he was released from prison. I spoke to him Saturday and he sounded fine. Terrible news. Inna lillahi wa inallah-e-raji’oon,” Rubongoya says.
The deceased has been battling charges of promoting sectarianism in the Luwero Grade One Magistrate Court. He was last week released on bail with a specific directive barring him from making statements on any media platforms given the seriousness of the offense against him.
According to the charge sheet, on April 5th, 2022 while in Luwero, Jakana,37, a resident of Nakasero zone in Wobulenzi town recorded and uploaded a video on youtube, which promotes sectarianism against Banyankole and Banyarwanda contrary to section 41(1) of the penal code act. Jakana pleaded not guilty to the offense.
