The National Unity Platform Presidential Candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, has promised to improve the country’s infrastructure once elected to office.
“We know you have poor roads here, you don’t have clean water, no drugs in health facilities, and taxes are high; we shall change all this, just trust us with power,” he said
Kyagulanyi, who traversed Isingiro district in search of support, made stopovers starting in Kaberebere Town Council, Nyamuyanja, Ruhiira Town Council, Kabuyanda, Kikagate, Rugaga, and Kabingo said that despite this being the western region, there is no difference with the Busoga region when it comes to the poor road network.
“Museveni has made people in other parts of the country think that the western region is more developed, but we have moved to the eastern and northern there is no difference; the roads are poor everywhere.
He asked the citizens to use the January 2026 election to change the leadership of this country so that they can witness a new Uganda.
He said that for the 40 years that the NRM has been in power, it has created an environment of segregation amongst Ugandans instead of focusing on infrastructural development, noting that when his political party is elected into power, he will create a Uganda where everyone will respect each other and live in harmony.
He further said that electing the National Unity Platform party into power will be the first step to the release of Col Rtd Kizza Besigye and other Political prisoners.
He asked the Isingiro supporters to think about the status of the things around them that they use daily when they are to cast their votes, noting that they hold the power to change.
He emphasized that Uganda is a rich country, but its people are very poor, noting that he will balance the riches of the country and its people.
Kyagulanyi, who started his campaigns in the western region on Wednesday, will hold rallies in Mbarara District and Mbarara City Tomorrow (Friday), starting with Mbarara District in the morning and Mbarara City in the afternoon.
