A farmer in Amuru District who went missing has been found dead.
David Anywar, 44, was last seen on Wednesday, on a motorcycle while leaving his home in Oyobi B village, Kololo parish. He was reportedly heading to his second home in corner Lukung.
However, residents discovered his body on Thursday at 4:40 pm lying by the banks of River Lakang.
David Ongom Mudong, the Aswa West Police Spokesperson says that the motorcycle Reg. No. UGD 566F, a Bajaj boxer red in colour was missing.
Mudong says the case was registered under SD Ref: 10/21/11/2024 at Kololo police post where investigations are taking place.
Mudong adds that they suspect Anywar could have been killed following a land conflict. According to Mudong, two suspects, Oyoru Moses and Obalim George are on the run.
According to Police Annual Crime Report, 4,248 murder cases were reported in 2023.
Amuru district registered 19 cases of murder in 2023, according to the Police Annual Crime Report.
