President Yoweri Museveni, alongside First Lady Janet Museveni, hosted the 3rd African Regional Inter-Parliamentary Conference at State House Entebbe on May 11, 2025, rallying African leaders to safeguard traditional family values and advance the continent’s economic and political integration.

The conference, themed “Towards an African Charter on Family Values and Sovereignty,” underscored the critical role of families as the bedrock of African nations.
In a powerful address, President Museveni urged leaders to resist foreign ideologies that threaten Africa’s cultural foundations.
“When people abandon what is right for wrong, that’s disorientation, and spreading it is criminal,” he declared, emphasizing that such efforts would ultimately fail.

He commended the growing movement across Africa to preserve traditional values, describing the collective stand as a vital defense against cultural erosion.
Highlighting the interdependence of families and nations, Museveni stated, “There can be no nation without families, and having successful families without strong countries is a challenge.”
Speaking as a husband, father, grandfather, and freedom fighter, he called for a unified push to strengthen Africa’s economic and political frameworks to secure a prosperous future for its people.

The conference, attended by parliamentarians and leaders from across the continent, marked a significant step toward crafting an African Charter on Family Values and Sovereignty.
Delegates praised Museveni’s leadership and vision for fostering unity and resilience in the face of external pressures.
