In his humble acceptance speech, President Nangolo Mbumba acknowledged the honorable responsibility bestowed upon him as the newly appointed President of the Republic of Namibia, in accordance with the constitutional provisions.

“Taking on this weighty role, I am committed to serving all Namibians with dedication, building upon the strong foundations laid by our esteemed leaders, including Founding Father Dr. Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma, Former President Dr. Hifikepunye Pohamba, and the late President Dr. Hage G. Geingob,” he highlighted.

In remembrance of President Geingob, President Nangolo observed a minute of silence, noting that the legacy of visionary leadership continues and he further ensured stability in the South African nation during this time of loss.

“I extend my gratitude to the citizens for their calm and stability, a testament to President Geingob’s governance architecture,” he asserted.

After stepping into the role, he announced the appointment of Honourable Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah as Vice President.

During this period of mourning, the president urged unity and prayers for the bereaved family.
