Edith Mutabaazi, the Mityana Chief Administrative Officer, says a person who will not attend training on how to meaningfully utilize the Parish Development Model funds will be denied the cash.

This, she warned, as the district prepares to release PDM money in the fourth phase as per the 2026/2027 financial year budget.

Edith sounded the warning at the just-concluded budget conference organised by Mityana district at Mizigo Community Hall.

She said that they got a directive that every person who wants the PDM funds has to be trained in the enterprise category they applied for.

Mityana district has 75 parishes, and all the parishes have PDM SACCOS. Mutabaazi revealed that each parish will be allocated a minimum of 300 million shillings, amounting to over 22 billion shillings budgeted for the 22500 households in three years.

Daniel Sseremba, the district production officer, said the department has started creating training centers and that they will establish a training center in each parish.

He said that no one will get the PDM money if he/she has not completed the three-month training.

The district senior commercial officer, Ivan Kisakye, said that they have put some Wendi agents, but in some parishes they have failed to get Wendi agents, which has made the work difficult.

Drake Joseph Mukiibi, the Resident District Commissioner, Mityana District, tasked the technical personnel to use the opportunities that are in the district to attract tourists and also to develop the district.

Mukiibi said that there are many attractive sites, but as a district, they have failed to develop them and asked them to work on them and get money.
