On Sunday, thousands of believers thronged Our Lady of Snows Virika Cathedral for a re-dedication service following the completion of renovation works.

Located in the heart of Fort Portal Tourism City, the cathedral serves as the principal church of the Fort Portal Catholic Diocese and the seat of the diocesan bishop.

For the past year, the cathedral had been closed for worship to allow for extensive renovations, particularly on the roof, which had sustained damage due to leaks.

Faith leaders in the diocese described the re-dedication as a moment of spiritual renewal and a call for deeper commitment to God.

They emphasized that after a long period without access to their place of worship, the faithful were returning to a revitalized sacred space.

Uganda Radio Network (URN) was on the ground to capture the significance of the day and brings you this story in pictures.
