As one way of ensuring community policing in the Albertine region, security teams in the are led by the Resident District Commissioner Kagadi, Lillian Ruteraho and the Albertine Police spokesperson, Julius Hakiza have hailed the work done by the Faith of Unity towards fostering peace and ensuring security in the region.

The teams had paid a courtesy call to Owobusobozi Akugizibwe Bisaka at the Faith’s headquarters located at Kapyemi village, Muhorro town council, Kagadi district.

RDC Ruteraho said as security, they have been working well with the Faith in ensuring total peace and stability and that Owobusobozi Bisaka has always been at the forefront in supporting all government programs including the fight against COVID 19.

She said security aims at strengthening the collaboration with the Faith of Unity leaders.

On his part, ASP Hakiza noted that community policing on matters of security crosses to all angles and therefore collaborating with the religious leaders is very crucial since they help in nurturing the soul.

He said that they have not had any problem with the Faith and that the visit was to strengthen on the ties.

Omukwenda Akugizibwe Bisaka the Faith of Unity leader commended the security team for acknowledging their role towards keeping peace amongst their followers emphasizing that they will continue ensuring sustainable peace and development in the region.

He added that the religion played a big role in ending witchcraft and cannibalism that had engulfed the region.

The function was graced by the Albertine Region CID Herbert Akankwasa, the commander of the 9th battalion, Lt. Col. Samuel Lubega Mawanda, Lt. Regan Muganza Political Commissar UPDF, all Officers in charge at all police stations in Kagadi district and some of the Bakwenda (leaders of the faith known as Bakwenda).

The security team also gifted the leader of the Faith gifts which included a goat and cash.
