Police in Kiboga district last night arrested seven people allegedly attending an unlawful assembly at Gogonya adventist nursery and primary school play ground in Kibiga parish of Kiboga district. 

According to the Wamala Police regional spokesperson SSP Lameck Kigozi, the unlawful assembly was convened by the district woman member of Parliament  who is also the flag bearer of National unity platform for the same electoral post Hon Christine Nakimwero. 

SSP Lameck Kigozi identified the others arrested as Muhwezi Joseph, Kayuki Alex, Katende Amidu, Semanda Joseph, Sebulime Abdu and Nanono Justine.

SSP Kigozi says that the assembly had over 70 people of whom police managed to arrest only seven as others run away and also managed to evacuate all the campaging material that she was using and the motor vehicle registration no UBK 223N with a sound system belonging to honourable Kaaya  red berets, among other campaign materials that were recovered as exhibits.

Kigozi said that the charge of participating in an unlawful assembly has been preferred against the suspects awaiting sanction by the state attorney in Kiboga.

SSP Kigozi has cautioned all candidates vying for various political offices in the forthcoming elections to desist from defying the electoral campaign guidelines.
