Kampala Metropolitan Police have made a significant breakthrough in the investigation of the double murder that shocked Lungujja earlier this month. 

According to Racheal Kawala, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, credible intelligence received on February 9th, 2026, led officers to the Toyota Harrier motor vehicle, registration number UBH 633M, which was reported missing after the incident.

Acting swiftly on the information, police arrested a key suspect on February 10th, 2026, and recovered the vehicle. The suspect has been identified as Allan Ssempala, Kawala confirmed in a statement. Police have indicated that investigations are ongoing as they pursue other leads in the case. (ChimpReports)

The double murder occurred on February 7th, 2026, at Dave Hotel and Suites in Mumbi Zone, Lungujja Parish, Rubaga Division, where two hotel staff members — Shivani Asasira (30), the hotel manager, and Lawrence Musinguzi (27), a security guard — were found dead with stab wounds.
