The Uganda Police has issued guidelines for revelers, entertainers and other people for safety during the festive season.

While addressing journalists at the Uganda Police Headquarters in Naguru on Wednesday, the Deputy Police spokesperson, Claire Nabakka, said all music concerts must be cleared by the Director of Operations through the Inspector General of Police.

The entertainers who include organisers, promoters, musicians among others are expected to follow the following guidelines;

Clearance and permission from the management of all these venues.

Clearance from the local authorities.

Full Names of all the performing artists must be availed at a particular event and in advance.

Work with Uganda Police to have a clear traffic plan which includes parking and all security of the vehicles.

Event promoters are warned about filling fans at the various events against the initial capacity of the venue.

Artists have been warned against having multiple concerts on the same day as it could incur risks of accidents as artists travel from one destination to another to catch the concerts.

Ugandans mark festive seasons in with many entertainment concerts. Dozens of people in related festivities died in 2015 when 13 people drowned in Entebbe area alone.
