The police in Hoima are holding three suspects believed to have participated in the brutal murder of a boda boda rider.
The suspects whose particulars have been concealed for fear of jeopardizing police investigations were arrested on Friday.
They are accused of brutally murdering Abraham Kiiza 32, a boda boda rider and a resident of Kibegenya village in Kyabigambire sub county in Hoima district. The incident happened on Thursday night at around 10 p.m.
It is alleged that the suspects with others still at large connived, coordinated and murdered the deceased as he approached his compound. They reportedly hacked him severally on the head, neck and the back killing him on the spot before they fled to an unknown destination.
Kiiza was returning home while riding on his motorcycle registration Number UFN 877E Bajaj.
Area residents heard him screaming for help and rushed to see what was happening to him, only to find him lying dead in a pool of blood in his compound.The assailants also abandoned his motorcycle at his compound.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson said that the hunt for more suspects believed to have participated in the murder is ongoing.
According to Hakiza, the suspects were arrested with the help of a police sniffer dog.
