The United Kingdom’s High Commissioner to Uganda, H.E. Lisa Chesney, on Friday afternoon paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, at the Special Forces Command (SFC) Headquarters in Entebbe.
General Kainerugaba warmly welcomed the British envoy and expressed appreciation for her visit, which he said reflected the deep and enduring ties between Uganda and the United Kingdom.
During the meeting, the two leaders held extensive discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral defence and security cooperation. Key areas of focus included regional security coordination, counter-terrorism initiatives, and opportunities for enhanced military training programmes.
Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to mutual respect, collaboration, and continued high-level engagement in addressing evolving security challenges across the region.
The courtesy call comes shortly after Gen. Kainerugaba received a delegation from Prince Harry’s Invictus Games Foundation, which is partnering with the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) to support wounded service members.
This is not the first time the CDF and the UK envoy have met; the two previously interacted during celebrations marking King Charles III’s birthday at the High Commissioner’s residence last year.
The latest engagement underscores ongoing efforts by both Kampala and London to deepen military and diplomatic cooperation rooted in shared strategic interests and historical ties.
