Dr. Eunice Apio Otuko of Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) has won the Oyam North by-election replacing former state minister for labour Charles Engola, who was gunned down by his bodyguard on May 2 this year.

Otuko garnered a total of 15,718 votes (49.12%) to defeat Samuel Engola of the ruling NRM party and son to the late Engola who got 15,718 votes (49.12%). NUP’s Okello Daniel got 403 votes while Okello Newton Freddy garnered 714 votes.
