The Police in Busoga East are investigating circumstances under which three pairs of Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) uniforms were dumped in a sugarcane plantation, in Kinawaiswa village, Iganga District.

Other items recovered were two laptops, two reflector jackets, and a number plate registration number; UBP 135D.  The items were recovered by children who were harvesting some sugarcane stems along the way.

A resident in the area who spoke on condition of anonymity suspects that the items might have been dumped by people known in the area because they bypassed all the houses and abandoned the items in a plantation located about 50 meters away from homes.

The Busoga East police spokesperson, Diana Nandawula said that detectives have already inspected the area where the items were recovered.

Nandawula also said that preliminary investigations indicate that, the items might have been stolen from an unknown place and dumped in the sugarcane plantation.

Nandawula however, said that they are liaising with police commanders in the neighboring districts, to intensify their efforts to hunt down those believed to have dumped the items.
