Businessman Balaam Barugahara (Dr) is the new ambassador for The International Community of Ankole (ICOA) in Uganda, the Community announced.

The group is a united community of the Banyankore living both within and outside Ankore region, working together for political, cultural, social, and economic development of the East African Community (EAC).

In a statement, Barbara Kekiconco, the ICOA Chief Operations Officer, revealed that Barugahara’s appointment is as a result of his demonstrated loyalty, service, vision, and passion for the ICOA mission and African affairs.

“He is a natural fit for this role,” Kekiconco says.

“Balaam’s leadership and spirit have inspired ICOA with enthusiasm. All over Uganda, people celebrate Balaam’s appointment as envoy, and for the young and ambitious, ICOA remains the ultimate attraction,” she adds.

She said that with Balaam as their ambassador, ICOA is poised to be a powerful force.

Speaking about the appointment, Barugahara said he is excited about being entrusted with the responsibility, and vowed to execute with commitment and dedication.

“I thank ICOA for this trust. This is a demonstration that my efforts to foster love and unity among all the people of Uganda and East Africa are recognised. The appointment as ICOA ambassador has reenergised me to do even more,” he reiterated.

Barugahara, an accomplished businessman, is the propriety of Baitu Group, a marketing and promotion agency. He is also the Vice Chairperson, MK Movement.
