Police in Kampala are investigating circumstances under which a female bar attendant at Angels Bar and Inn, in Rubaga who agreed to spend a night with a client died.

The deceased has been identified as Akampulira Patience aged 24 years. Her lifeless body was found in a room by the bar manager, a one Kabali Brian.

It is alleged that on December 25 at around 5pm at Angels Inn and Bar in Namungoona Zone 2, Rubaga Division in Kampala District, Kabali, the Manager reportedly received a customer identified as Oduba Denis who wanted to spend a night there, and while in the bar, the client picked interest in Akampurira whom he then befriended.

It is alleged that the duo consented to each other and decided to spend a night together. During their stay in the guest house, the client is said have frequently come out to buy drinks.

Other attendants at the bar claim that at arround 1am, the deceased came out to check on them, when she told them that she didn’t want to continue with the man, but later, went back to him in the room.

However, at around 3am, the manager, Kabali, heard some noise as if someone was jumping out of the guest room through the wall, something that prompted him to check.

It was from here that he found the room where the duo was sleeping, widely open and on entering, he found Akampulira dead.

Kabali rushed to Lugala Police Station where a case of suspected murder was reported

Plus News has since established that the scene was visited by Divisional CID Officer Old Kampala Police Station, Scene Of Crime Officers, Homicide team and officers from Namungoona Police Post and the relevant witnesses interviewed and recorded their statements as well.

Akampurira’s body was then picked and conveyed to City Mortuary Mulago for post mortem.

Officers privy to this investigation told this news website that exhibits of some drinks in beer bottles and some green leaves (Mairungi like) were recovered and are currently pending submission to Forensics.

Postmortem report

A postmortem report seen by this news website indicates that some green substance in form of chewed leaves in the mouth and stomach were recovered, part of which was also recovered from the scene.

The pathologist also noted symptoms synonymous with Leukemia.

This is not the first time such incidents are happening in Rubaga. In March this year, four women were on different occasions sexually assaulted and later killed allegedly by a one Musaazi Musa from his rented room in Mujomba Zone 6. He was traced, arrested, charged to court and is currently on remand, thanks to Uganda Police.

The same area in April also witnessed 5 girls murdered in almost a similar manner and their bodies burnt.
