Ntinda-based radio station, Radio 4, has welcomed renowned radio presenter Bina Baibe, known off-air as Robina Mbabazi Mulera, announced Station Manager Adam Kungu.

Kungu revealed the news in a Thursday post on X, announcing that the deep-voiced radio icon would helm the mid-morning show on the station.

“Your mid-mornings just got better. The radio powerhouse is here. Join me in welcoming the remarkable, the eminent, Bina Baibe to 103.3 FM Radio 4,” Kungu wrote, providing minimal details.

Insiders at the Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi-owned station disclosed that Bina will co-host the mid-morning show with Tinah Nangonzi.

Until recently, Bina hosted the mid-morning show, ‘Mubeezi,’ on Dembe FM for over two decades.

When reached for comment, Kungu affirmed Bina’s recruitment, hailing it as a significant addition to one of the country’s top radio stations.

“She is exactly what Radio 4 needed, a perfect match for our listeners’ preferences and demands. Her substantial following, extensive experience, and most importantly, her connection with her fans and audience were crucial factors in our decision,” Kungu remarked.

“Bina’s track record and talent speak volumes, and we are committed to delivering excellence,” he emphasized.

Kungu mentioned that further details regarding Bina’s on-air debut would be communicated later.

Prior to her tenure at Dembe FM, Bina worked with Uganda Broadcasting Corporation, formerly UTV and Radio Uganda, as a presenter for teen shows. She later joined Dembe FM after four years.

In a 2018 interview with a local newspaper, the popular radio host revealed her initial ambition to become a medical doctor, which was hindered by her fear of dead bodies. Despite briefly pursuing medical school, she ultimately switched to studying accounting at Nkumba University, where she never practiced.

Bina Babie is the eldest of five siblings. She attended Lugogo Nursery School, Kitante Primary School, and Trinity College Nabbingo before completing her high school education at St. Joseph’s Naggalama.
