Janet Museveni, Uganda’s Minister for Education and Sports, has confirmed the release of the 2023 UCE results for Thursday, starting at 11 am.

This confirmation comes after a briefing with officials from the Uganda National Examinations Board, chaired by Prof. Celestino Obua, and Executive Director Dan Odongo, along with senior officials from both the board and the Ministry of Education.

In 2023, a total of 349,459 candidates registered for the examinations, compared to 364,467 in 2022.

During the announcement tomorrow, the executive director is expected to provide details on the number of candidates who sat for the examinations, the performance by gender and region, special needs candidates’ performance, subject-wise performance, and other relevant parameters.

The 2023 candidates represent the final cohort to be evaluated under the old lower secondary curriculum and during Thursday’s release, UNEB will outline arrangements for the smooth transition to phase out the old curriculum and introduce the new one.

Similar to the recently released PLE examinations, candidates, parents, and well-wishers will have the option to access the results via SMS on their mobile devices following the official release.
