Police have arrested eight people in connection with the death of 14-year-old Peter Iranzi, the son of Mr. Kolodi of Kyeeza LC1 in Nkooko Sub-county.

According to District Police Commander David Otabongo, Iranzi was reportedly attacked and killed by unknown assailants on the night of March 22, 2026, while heading to fetch water with two other children.

The following day, angry residents allegedly stormed the home of a man identified as Edward Bisirikirwa, whom they suspected of involvement in the killing.

The mob reportedly destroyed property worth millions of shillings, including a house, livestock, and plantations.

Otabongo said: “Police intervened to restore order and arrested eight suspects linked to the destruction as investigations into both the murder and the mob action continue.

”He further urged the public to remain calm and report disputes to authorities instead of taking the law into their own hands. URN
