The Iteso Cultural Union (ICU), under the leadership of Paul Sande Emolot, has announced a mini Cabinet reshuffle aimed at strengthening institutional leadership, improving service delivery, and fostering unity across the cultural institution.
The reshuffle was confirmed by the ICU Minister for Information, Stephen Ojacor, who said the changes reflect a strategic effort to realign leadership with the Union’s core mandate of promoting cultural heritage, enhancing social cohesion, and advancing sustainable development for the Iteso people.
The reshuffle introduces several new appointments, all of which take immediate effect. Oliver Tebaise has been named Minister for Cabinet Affairs, replacing Stella Rose Ademun.
Gabriel Otwani Opakasi takes on the role of Minister in charge of Clan Affairs, while Jonathan Imentur has been appointed Minister of Herbal Traditional Medicine.
Nathan Isengede assumes the position of Minister of Agriculture. In addition, Francis Etyang Ekembo has been appointed Deputy Minister for Mobilisation, and Charles Eweku becomes Deputy Minister for Tourism.
Hon. Davidson Elyau will serve as Personal Assistant and Executive Assistant at the Kampala Liaison Office, while Papa William Alloch has been appointed Senior Advisor on Institutional Affairs.
According to Ojacor, a key highlight of the reshuffle is the appointment of Papa William Alloch, a founding member of the Union, whose recent reconciliation with the Emorimor follows the withdrawal of a court case.
“This development signals renewed efforts toward unity, dialogue, and institutional harmony within the cultural body,” Ojacor said. Observers say the move is a significant step toward consolidating internal cohesion and strengthening the Union’s leadership framework.
The reshuffle is part of a broader strategy to enhance operational efficiency and leadership effectiveness within the Cabinet. It also underscores a commitment to responsive governance and institutional growth.
The newly appointed leaders are expected to drive key priority areas, including cultural preservation, community mobilisation, agriculture, tourism, and institutional development.
All changes take immediate effect, marking a new chapter for the Iteso Cultural Union as it seeks to build a more united, efficient, and forward-looking institution in service of the Iteso people. URN
