Bafaki Gordon, the former Member of Parliament for Kazo County has died in a motor accident on the Northern bypass.
According to ASP Faridah Nampiima, the accident occurred at around 2am on Wednesday at Kiwatule along Northern Bypass involving Motorvehicle registration number KBZ 539Z Mercedes Benz trailer and Motorvehicle registration number UBD 965E Toyota land cruiser TX which Bafaki was driving.
It is alleged that Bafaki, a 48 year old and resident of Wakiso district, knocked the rear body of the moving trailer, leading to his instant death. His body has since been taken to Mulago City Mortuary.
The driver of the Trailer identified as Kahagi John Kinuthia is in police custody to help in investigations, Nampiima says.
The deceased represented Kazo in the 10th Parliament before being defeated by Dan Kimosho in the January 2021 general elections.
Media reports indicate at at the time of meeting his death, Bafaki was from Kazo where he attended meetings organising the home coming of Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
