The Ministry of Public Service has cleared the Kotido District to recruit 164 new staff members at different departments.
Kotido Municipal Council will also benefit from this approval, with authorization to hire 33 additional personnel.
The communication was delivered in a circular released by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Service.
Emmanuel Oyuku, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for Kotido District, confirmed the development, stating that all necessary legal procedures for declaring the vacant positions have been completed. Oyuku says the District Service Commission will now convene to finalize the recruitment process, including the publication of job advertisements.
The recruitment drive extends beyond Kotido, with several other administrative units in the region also receiving clearance. Moroto District is set to hire 42 staff, with Moroto Municipal Council authorized for 12. Nabilatuk District will recruit 11 employees, Nakapiripirit District 37, Napak District 33, and Abim District 16. This widespread recruitment is expected to strengthen the capacity of local governments across the region.
