The Police in Nakaseke District have arrested a man for allegedly killing his wife.
Rashid Katongole a resident of Butibulongo village in Wakyato Sub-County killed his wife, Monica Kunihira, 35 on allegations of infidelity. The incident happened on Monday at around 8:00 a.m.
Ismail Kiwanuka, the Butibulongo village LCI Chairperson says that Katongole found his wife with another man in the garden which is about 10 metres from their home.
According to Kiwanuka, Katongole beat Kunihira who sustained injuries. She died before she was transported to the hospital.
Sam Twiineamazima, the Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson said that they are hunting for another suspecting connection to Kunihira’s death.
Last month, police in Luwero launched a hunt for a man for stabbing the girlfriend to death. The victim was identified as Jane Kyoshabire, 26, a resident Kalasa village, in Makulubita Sub-County.
In September, police in Luwero arrested a woman, Catherine Asaba who allegedly killed her husband, who was a Uganda People’s Defense Forces-UPDF soldier. The incident occurred in Kizito Zone, Luwero Town Council. The deceased was identified as Sgt. Oriema Cosma, 47, based at Makenke Barracks in Mbarara.
