Luke Owoyesigire the Deputy Police Spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan says they are investigating the source of the anonymous letter

A resident of Naguru Go Down zone, Derrick Genza who has been missing has been found killed and tied on the roadside in Bujuuko, Mpigi district along Kampala-Mityana road.

Genza went missing last week, but as the search for him was ongoing, a body of a person resembling him was found.

It has emerged that Police has since checked the deceased’s body and found it with a photocopy of an Identity Card in the name of Derrick Genza. ASP Police Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson said Genza’s body was transported by the police to Mulago hospital for a postmortem.

“It looked like he was killed from another place and dumped in Bujuuko. We have collected some exhibits of evidential material which we have submitted to the police directorate of forensic science for examination,” said ASP Owoyesigyire.

It is not yet clear how Genza was abducted from Naguru Go Down to wherever he was killed from and later dumped in Bujuuko. Police are also yet to establish the reasons that could have led to Genza’s murder.

Naguru Go Down is known for recording gruesome murders.  Several months ago, a body of Jackline Nakabembe who was three months shy to her graduation at Makerere University was found dumped in a water trench in Naguru Go Down.

Nakabembe’s body was seen by a police officer who was going for duty. It was later discovered that she was killed by her boyfriend Dickens Agumeneitwe who had just been released from jail after serving a sentence related to rape and robbery.

Agumeneitwe said he killed Nakabembe because she was planning to cheat on him. Agumeneitwe tricked her with a different phone to test whether she was cheating on him and she fell into his trap. The accused who is now facing murder offences said he punched her near the breast and she died on spot.
