President Yoweri Museveni has expressed Uganda’s readiness to work with investors so that both parties benefit economically.

The president made this pledge while meeting the Chairman of Prometheus, Mr. Mariusz Lwanski and Mr. Chaher Al Taki the CEO and Managing Director of Rowad Capital Commercial LLC(RCC) group at State House, Entebbe on Monday.

In his remarks, Mr. Lwanski an investor from Poland, informed President Museveni of their interest to set up a manufacturing hub for modern technology systems including Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) popularly known as drones.

Prometheus has a mission to build high-quality, innovative drone solutions for professional applications in areas of security, inspection of assets and digital technology.

“The special drones that fly in all conditions can also be used among other things for monitoring and the inspection of forests, critical infrastructure, life rescue, fire services, fishing in the water bodies as well as in agriculture,” Mr. Lwanski revealed. 

“The drones can also be used for security purposes, we want to make Uganda a hub in the region and Africa for the manufacture of this modern high technology equipment,” he added.

On his part, Mr. Chaher informed President Museveni of his group’s interest to invest in various sectors that include among others oil and gas as well as telecommunications.

RCC is a leading global engineering and construction contractor established in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and it specialized in the provision of Advisory and Consulting Services in the Middle East and Africa.

President Museveni welcomed the investors to Uganda and pledged to support their plans.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Hon. Matia Kasaija and the Minister of State for Investment and Privatization, Hon. Evelyn Anite.

Other officials included the Chief of Defense Forces (CDF), Gen. Wilson Mbasu Mbadi, TAKC Board Member, Ms. Rose Birungi, among others.
