President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has returned to Uganda after completing a three-day working visit to Egypt that centred on strengthening bilateral relations, promoting trade, and enhancing regional cooperation.

During the visit, President Museveni held high-level talks with his Egyptian counterpart, H.E. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, where both leaders reaffirmed the strategic importance of the Nile River and the need for equitable sharing of its waters among all Nile Basin countries.

They underscored the river’s potential to drive prosperity, unity, and sustainable development across the continent.

The two heads of state also explored avenues to boost trade between Uganda and Egypt, reduce reliance on European markets, and foster greater economic integration among African nations.

Speaking at the Egypt-Uganda Business Forum, President Museveni invited Egyptian investors to tap into Uganda’s opportunities in agriculture, manufacturing, and infrastructure, assuring them of a conducive investment climate.

The visit concluded with the signing of several landmark agreements covering trade, investment, agriculture, water management, and governance. These accords are expected to deepen the historically strong ties between Kampala and Cairo.

Regional peace and stability were also on the agenda, with President Museveni calling for constructive dialogue in conflict-affected countries such as Libya, Sudan, and Palestine.

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, the Head of State was received by the Minister for the Presidency, Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda; Commander of the Air Force, Lt. Gen. Charles Okidi; Deputy Inspector General of Police, James Ochaya; and Deputy Commissioner General of Prisons, Samuel Akena.
