Uganda’s ruling political party, National Resistance Movement (NRM), will host a delegation of Communist Party of China (CPC), the founding and sole ruling party of the People’s Republic of China.
The group led by H.E. Mr. Li Mingxiang the Vice Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, which is set to arrive in Uganda today, Tuesday, February 28, was invited by the NRM.
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, the delegation will be received by top party officials who include Capt Mike Mukula the NRM Vice-Chairperson Eastern region, Hon Amb Barbara Nekesa Oundo NRM National Treasure, Maj (Rtd) Polly Awich Okwir NRM Director Foreign Affairs and Don Bwanna Victor Head of Protocal NRM Secretariat.
The Chinese delegation is expected to meet top party leaders, to brief them on the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress.
The two sides will as well hold working talks aimed at enhancing cooperation and as well commit to cordially work together in order to mitigate the existing world political challenges and benefit both countries.
The engagement will enable both parties expand and uphold interparty contacts at various levels, contributing to the development of mutual beneficial dialogues between the young people of the two parties, women, those in the academia to strengthen friendship.
This is not the first time NRM is deliberately seeking to strengthen ties with ruling political party of world powers. In June last year, the party’s Secretary-General, Rt Hon Richard Todwong, signed an agreement with the Chairman of the United Russia Party International Affairs Commission, Dr. Andrey Klimov.
The two supremos who virtually met held a brief interaction before they put ‘pen to paper’ to the agreement.
