After years of redevelopment works on Nakivubo Stadium, its new-look as it nears completion, pits it among the top-quality stadiums that will provide the best spectacle for fans, players and TV audiences alike.

On Sunday, the youthful local investor, Hamis Kiggundu, released stunning photos of the current state of the Stadium clearly showing seats with different colors fixed, amazing sky view of stadium beautifully sitting in the heart of the City.

Using the latest technology, the new stadium built literally from scratch not only excites but has also given the City an amazing and modern view.

The modern shape of the Stadium show all interior spaces reorganized, improved and modernized while creating new and better VIP zones and commercial spaces.

A source says after completion, the stadium’s facilities will be in position to meet all CAF and FIFA quality standards, thus allowing it to host continental and international football games.

Ugandans will joyfully enjoy a unique experience of the Stadium and a completely different atmosphere to what existed before.

Plus News understands that new video scoreboards and sound system will as well be introduced, thus offering a better-quality experience.

The fundamental objective of the plan we’re carrying out is to make our stadium a more modern one, says one of the top managers of the Stadium on condition of anonymity.

It should be remembered that after a 2015 presidential directive to have have businessman, Hamis Kiggundu, renovate the stadium such that it meets international standards, the works have been ongoing.

On completion, the multi-purpose stadium will supplement Mandela National Stadium in among others hosting international football games.

Currently, Uganda has no stadium that meets required standards to host FIFA games.

In April, Uganda hosted Tanzania in TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier at Suez Canal Authority Stadium in Ismailia, Egypt and will later this month host their next game against Algeria in Cameroon.
