Heads of Government and State of African countries continue to arrive in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to attend the 35th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Union which kicks off tomorrow Saturday February 5 and ends Sunday February 6.

The leaders who will meet at the Headquarters of African Union, are convening physically for the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic in 2020.

The 35th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union which will tomorrow start at 10am EAT, follows a successful 40th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the AU held in the same City on February 2 and 3.

Uganda’s leader, Yoweri Museveni will be represented by the Vice President, Major (Rtd) Jessica Alupo, according to Uganda’s embassy in Ethiopia.

Some of the learders who are already in Ethiopia include Burundi’s Evareste Ndayishimiye, Zimbabwe’s Emmerson Mnanangagwa, Nigeria’s Muhammadu Buhari and Malawi’s Lazarus Chakwera.

Thursday also saw the President of the Republic of CôtedIvoire, Alassane Ouattara arrive in Addis Ababa.
