Following IEBC’s declaration of William Ruto as the President-elect of Kenya, the Prime Minister of Uganda, Rt Hon Robinah Nabbanja has congratulated him upon reaching this victory.

“I Congratulate H.E Williams Ruto upon being elected the 5th President of the Republic of Kenya and salute all Kenyans for peacefully exercising your democratic rights,” Nabbanja wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, a number of Heads of State across the continent have also congratulated him. These include Zimbabwe’s Emmerson Mnangagwa, Somalia’s Mohamed Farmaajo and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali.

Zimbabwean President Mnangagwa has lauded Ruto for his success exuding confidence that he (Ruto) will deliver on his new role.

“Congratulations to @WilliamsRuto on his election as the next President of Kenya. I have no doubt he will serve his country, his people and our continent with distinction,” he wrote on Twitter.

Somalia’s Farmaajo on his part commended Ruto for his hard work throughout the campaign period as he wished him well in his tenure as Head of State.

“I wish to offer my most sincere congratulations to President-Elect of Kenya H.E. @WilliamsRuto and the people of Kenyan following the successful conclusion of the elections. You truly ran an enriching, overpowering campaign & May God help you fulfil your vision for your country,” he stated.

Abiy Ahmed likewise expressed his admiration for Ruto as the president-elect saying he looks forward to working with him after he is sworn-in.

“My congratulations William Ruto @WilliamsRuto, on your election as the President of the Republic of Kenya. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavours ahead and we look forward to working closely with you on common bilateral and regional interests,” Ahmed noted.

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari wished Dr Ruto a successful tenure.

“I congratulate the President-Elect of Kenya, William Ruto on his victory in the August 9,2022 general elections. I wish him a successful inauguration and tenure in his office,” said Muhammadu Buhari.
