The Katwe Police Division is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 25-year-old woman at the home of socialite Brian Kirumira, popularly known as Brian White, in Makindye Division.

According to the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, the deceased has been identified as Carlone Nalubwama, who died at Kiruddu Hospital after sustaining serious injuries allegedly at Brian White’s residence in Kyamula, Makindye Division.

Owoyesigyire said the suspect, Brian White, told police that the woman was injured in a gas cylinder explosion while she was cooking. “A team of our detectives, along with other relevant officers, visited the crime scene, documented it, and recovered relevant exhibits to aid the ongoing investigation,” said Owoyesigyire.

However, the victim’s father, Ssalongo Tom Mutyaba, disputed the explosion account, saying his daughter had been in a relationship with Brian White despite his disapproval. He said Nalubwama had recently returned from Dubai but continued seeing the suspect secretly.

“I received a call saying my daughter died at Brian White’s home, allegedly due to a gas cylinder explosion,” said Mutyaba. “We rushed her to Mulago Hospital, but she was already deceased. The circumstances surrounding her death are unclear—there were no burn marks, only blood coming from her nose. We demand a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of her death.”

Police said the suspect, who also sustained injuries during the alleged incident, is receiving medical treatment and has provided a statement to assist with the investigation. “We are working to obtain CCTV footage and interview more witnesses to reconstruct the sequence of events. Further details will be shared as the investigation progresses,” Owoyesigyire added.

Brian White has previously been linked to several controversies and arrests. In 2017, he and his bodyguard were charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting his neighbor, Victor Bitwire. Although the charges were later dropped, he spent time in prison before being released on bail. In 2020, Brian White was arrested again on charges of fraud and unpaid debts. He reportedly spent several days in police custody for obtaining goods by false pretenses, including a luxury car, before settling part of the debt.
