‎The South Kyoga Regional Police have arrested three suspects in connection with a housebreaking and theft incident that occurred at the Airtel service office in Kumi Municipality.

‎‎‎‎According to the regional police spokesperson, ASP Stephen Mukombe, the break-in took place on the night of April 23, 2026, at an unspecified time.

The incident was reported by Sarah Akello, a resident of Bazar Ward, who alerted authorities about the theft.‎‎‎‎‎

Following the report, officers from the district Criminal Investigations Department (CID), accompanied by a police canine unit, visited the scene to launch an investigation.

Preliminary findings suggest that the suspects gained entry into the Airtel service center through a window, subsequently breaking into a safe and stealing approximately UGX 40,750,000.‎‎‎‎ Additionally, the suspects reportedly broke into a teller’s desk and stole an HP laptop belonging to the office.‎‎‎.

The operation that led to the arrests was conducted by the Officer in Charge of CID, resulting in the apprehension of three male suspects: John Emorut, Dennis Robert Ocen, and Robert Opolot‎‎ASP Mukombe confirmed that investigations are ongoing and assured the public that more updates will be provided as the inquiry progresses.
