A heavy contingent of police officers has been deployed in different parts of the Kenyan capital, Nairobi ahead of Azimio’s anti-government protests.

A spot-check revealed that a team of Anti-riot police has erected roadblocks at Nyerere-Processional roads intersection and all roads leading to State House.

In Nairobi’s CBD, police were heavily deployed at KenCom, Archives, and parts of Kenyatta Avenue.

Despite many shops remaining closed, operations seemed normal as a handful of pedestrians strode down a number of streets.

Along Juja road at St Theresa’s junction, another team of police was positioned together with an armoured water cannon truck at Juja road.

The same is being witnessed in DC area in Kibra.

The protest is entering its second week after the first one which happened on Monday, March 20, was rocked with chaos leaving a distasteful aftermath. Citizen Digital
