Luke Owoyesigire the Deputy Police Spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan says they are investigating the source of the anonymous letter

The Police in Wandegeya have arrested Milton Apuret a security guard for shooting a businessman.

It is alleged that Apuret who is attached to B-safe Security Systems Company and was guarding Tipy Nice Limited Supermarket at Jujju Road in Wandegeya on Saturday shot Geoffrey Mwesigwa who had caused a road crash and knocked the wall of the supermarket, he was guarding.

In an attempt to prevent the driver from fleeing the scene, Apuret shot Mwesigwa who had entered a nearby shop adjacent to the supermarket.

Luke Owoyesigyire the deputy Police spokesperson at Kampala Metropolitan said that upon reaching the crime scene, traffic police towed the vehicle for further investigations.

Owoyesigyire added that currently, the victim is receiving treatment at Mulago Hospital where he was rushed after the incident.

According to Owoyesigyire, the police have taken possession of the rifle, bullets, and cartridges.

Apuret is currently detained at Wandegeya Police Station.
