Ministry of Education and Sport has commissioned two new classroom blocks at St Aloysius College Nyapea in Zombo District.

The funding that covered five classrooms was constructed at a tune of 308 Million Shillings under the Secondary Schools’ Expansions Program. They were fully furnished with desks, tables, and chairs for teachers.

Brother Paul Nantinda, the headteacher applauded the government for the support and committed that they will protect the new structures.  He said that the lack of classrooms was hindering teaching.

Dr. Amos Nyathirombo, the old Boys President observed that the alumni have renovated four dormitory blocks, constructed gates, boreholes, and pavers, and are offering scholarships to a number of students in a bid to revive the former glory of the school.

Dr. Nyathirombo asked for full support for the refurbishment of other dilapidated structures at the college.

According to Dr Nyathirombo in 2017 the school had only 90 students from S.1 to S.6, but this year 430 learners have been enrolled.

Anthony Okwir Chairperson Board of Governors tasked the Ministry to recruit more science teachers for the school.

The Chief of Jalakonja/Jalafoyu chiefdom Ucircan rallied the community to embrace the development of the college.

St Aloysius College Nyapea was established in 1938 by the Catholic brothers from America.
