Kyambogo University has been served with a notice of intention to sue by a former student for delaying to avail him with his academic transcript 11 years after completing his studies.

The former student identified as Kigozi Ernest says he was enrolled at Kyambogo University in the academic year 2006/2007 for a programme of study leading to the award of a Bachelor of Development Studies.

He says he was admitted under 06/U/2165/BDE/PE which he completely elven years ago.

Through his lawyers Nalukoola, Kakeeto Advocates and Solicitors, Kigozi says he has approached Kyambogo University to get his transcript in order to seek employment but his efforts hit a dead end.

To the effect, he now wants the University to give him billion Uganda shillings on top of immediately availing the transcript.

“Our client has since then not got his transcript from the University without and justification know at law,” reads the Notice of intention to sue.

“You issue our client with the transcript and any other relevant documents including but not limited to the certificate of completion”

“Furnish in our chambers a sum of Shs 2,000,000,000 for lost income to our client had he commenced work and damages for atonement of told so far meted on our client,” added the notice of intention to sue.

The law firm has also demanded for Shs20 million which Kigozi has so far allegedly incurred while instructing them.

The University has been given fourteen days to adhere to the demands or get sued.
