Police in the Kiira region have arrested three students over acts of hooliganism.

Zubair Mulondo of St. Joseph SSS, Frank Oundo, and Romeo Kibuuka from Jinja Progressive Academy are currently detained at Bugembe Police Station.

They were arrested while pelting stones at students of St. John SSS, Wakitaka, who were doing physical exercise in their school compound on Tuesday.

The suspects were about 20 and the school’s security rounded them off, however, 17 fled.

The scuffle ensued for close to 30 minutes, where seven students from St. John SSS sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Wakitaka Health Center for treatment.

The suspects admitted to having come for a revenge attack after their colleague was assaulted and his phone robbed at St. John SSS last week.

James Mubi, the Kiira Regional Police Spokesperson, said that the police have embarked on a manhunt for other suspects.
