Two people have been arrested for allegedly hacking a 5-year-old girl to death in Kagadi District.

The suspects have been identified as Brian Byamukama 19 and Pascal Ajuna, both residents of Kamurandu village, Nyabutanzi sub-county.

It is alleged that the suspects on Tuesday at around 8 p.m. raided the home of Emmanuel Byamukama of Kihuura village and reportedly hacked his daughter Brenda Tusingwire on the head, neck, and face killing her instantly.

According to Byamukama, at the time of the attack, he and his wife Margret Ayebale were not at home.

Ayebale said that on the fateful day, she left her daughter playing with colleagues as she went to the nearby trading center to buy tomatoes.

However, upon returning home after 20 minutes, she found Tusingwire’s body lying in a pool of blood on their bed.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region Police Spokesperson says, that the police sniffer dogs tracked down and helped effect the arrest of two suspects who are detained at Kagadi Police Station.
