President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni oversaw the signing of a crucial Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Ugandan Government and Luokung Technology Corporation and Shiftings Limited at State Lodge, Nakasero on Saturday.

The MOU focuses on fostering Environmental Protection and sustainable development in Uganda.

Representing the Ugandan Government, Hon. Beatrice Atim Anywar, Minister of State for Environment, alongside Mr. Alfred Okot Okidi, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Water and Environment, and Hon. Jackson Kafuuzi, Deputy Attorney General, inked the agreement.

On the corporate front, Ms. Wu Ying, CEO of Luokung Technology Corporation, and Mr. Shakhalaga Khwa Jirongo, CEO of Shiftings Limited, added their signatures, with Luokung’s Chairman Mr. Song Xuesong in attendance.

Luokung Technology Corporation aims to establish a platform in Uganda facilitating a carbon exchange, not only within Uganda but across the entire African continent, as shared by Mr. Okidi. The envisioned platform will serve as a comprehensive repository of carbon-related information for Uganda and the broader African region.

The signing event also welcomed the presence of His Excellency Zhang Lizhong, the Chinese Ambassador to Uganda.
