The Prime Minister of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Nabbanja Robinah, today (Saturday) represented President Museveni at the memorial service for the late Maj. Gen. Ali Bamuze in Uji Village, Kululu Sub-county, Yumbe District.

President Museveni praised Maj. Gen. Bamuze’s enduring legacy, urging all Ugandans to emulate his good deeds, charisma, and patriotism.

Before addressing hundreds of gathered residents, the Prime Minister held a meeting with Bamuze’s family members.

Residents, led by State Minister for Defence in Charge of Veterans Aleru Huda, along with MPs and district chairpersons from Yumbe and Koboko, remembered Maj. Gen. Bamuze as a peace lover who worked for the prosperity of his area and the country.

Maj. Gen. Ali Bamuze died on October 7, 2015, in Kampala after a short illness and was given a state burial. At the time of his death, he was working with Operation Wealth Creation (OWC). He joined the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) following a peace agreement he signed with President Museveni in 2002, as Chief of Staff of the rebel group UNRF I and II.
