Ambassador Adonia Ayebare, Uganda’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, last week welcomed students from Lacordaire School in New Jersey to Uganda House during their educational tour of the UN Headquarters.

The visit provided an opportunity for the students to engage directly with Uganda’s diplomatic mission and learn about the country’s priorities on the global stage.

In a productive and engaging session, Ambassador Ayebare outlined Uganda’s key objectives at the United Nations, which include advancing sustainable development, promoting peace and security, and addressing climate change challenges.

The students, well-prepared by their teachers, actively participated in a fruitful discussion, asking insightful questions and sharing perspectives on global issues.

“I thank the teachers for preparing the students so well and my team at Uganda House for their excellent arrangements,” Ambassador Ayebare stated in a post on X, reflecting on the successful visit.

The event underscores Uganda’s commitment to fostering dialogue with young global citizens and highlights the importance of educational outreach in diplomacy.

The students left Uganda House with a deeper understanding of Uganda’s role in international affairs and the workings of the United Nations.
